| After searching for a couple of hours, I still can't figure this out. I got the numbers off the crank, I understand the order for those. The problem is with the numbers on the rod that I need to use to add with the numbers on the crank. I understand one side of the rod/cap has the number that designates which cylinder they are from. Like this, showing that this piston/rod is from cylinder 5:
When you turn the rod over, there are two sets of number. The #F on the connecting rod, and the number on the cap itself. Like so:
Is the number on the cap used? or the number with the F on the connecting rod itself? FSM is very vague and the write up by Damon says to go with the number on the connecting rod itself. [ http://twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/FAQ/FAQpages/bearings.aspx ] Can someone please clarify this for me.
I have nightmares about that happening...I'd be the poor bastard you'd hear about on the news that gets killed by a softball-size chunk while spreading out my body over the hood and screaming "Nooo!"
